Pre-Purchase Exams

The purchase of a horse may be one of the most important purchases you make.  You want a veterinarian who is thorough, meticulous and comprehensive.  Pre-purchase exams include a basic exam of the heart, lungs, and eyes for any abnormalities and a more thorough exam of the back, hooves and legs including flexion tests and x-rays if desired.  Dr. Kostinas will see the horse on the lunge line as well as under saddle and she takes into account your goals with the horse when she makes her overall assessment.
